Tiny Spoon Chef’s name came to be because I’m an avid collector of tiny spoons and I have been since I was about 20 years old. Now I’m not talking about those spoons people hang on the wall with state names from novelty gift shops.
I’ve been collecting salt cellar spoons, demitasse spoons, and small teaspoons from antique shops, flea markets, specialty purveyors and restaurants that I’ve been to.
Yes, some were, well taken, I’ve mostly asked to take them after a great meal, but I can’t really avow to that 100% of the time, because great wine goes with a great meal. The end of dinner can be, hazy, if you know what I mean.
In 2013, my tiny spoon collection was about 100 strong when I needed to give my business a name. Tiny Spoon Chef felt perfect, sweet, and weirdly inevitable.
My collection is over 200 now. When you name a business after them and help hundreds of families over many years, folks will bring you treasures from around the globe, too.
