Meet Liz, a culinary enthusiast whose heart sings for a homemade watermelon and burrata salad with balsamic pearls from Tropez in St. Pete, perfectly prepared scallops, and a good crème brûlée. And let’s not forget cheese – all the cheese.
Liz’s most memorable culinary adventure took place during a family trip to Italy. There, a private chef introduced her to rabbit (initially mistaken for the best chicken ever), taught her how to make homemade ravioli in an old Italian kitchen overlooking the ocean, and made pizza in an oven built into the side of the house. The pièce de résistance? A paint bucket full of Nutella and an unforgettable meal at Relais Blue.
Growing up in Huntsville, Alabama, Liz enjoyed the city’s diversity, thanks to the Space and Rocket Center and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Adventures with Dad included hiking and cave exploring on Monte Sano Mountain, followed by visits to Mullins for loose meat sandwiches, chili dogs, and sky-high lemon meringue pie. Visits to New Orleans with Mom’s family were always centered around food, from Grandmother’s gumbo to a memorable meal at Uglesich's, where soft shell crab and ice-cold IBC root beer in the kitchen left a lasting impression.
When she’s not in the kitchen, Liz cherishes time with her family, whether on the beach at Longboat Key or in a cozy cabin in Colorado with friends. Her favorite places include Italy and California, where culinary memories abound. There’s always music, laughter, and delightful chaos in her kitchen as everyone thinks they know best about cooking.
